Tony Delgado, City of Lakeland
Tony began work with the City of Lakeland in January 1997 as Assistant Director for The Lakeland Center. He became Assistant City Manager in November 2000. In October of 2004, he was promoted to Deputy City Manager. Tony is responsible for assisting the City Manager in administering the oversight of City operations and is the administrative liaison to the City departments of Community Development, Parks & Recreation, Water/Wastewater Utility, Lakeland Linder Regional Airport, The Lakeland Center, The Pension Management Division and the City’s Information Technology Department. Along with acting as lead administrative negotiation representative with the collective bargaining groups within the City.
He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Parks & Community/Commercial Recreation from Southern Illinois University and obtained the designation of Certified Public Manager from the Florida Center for Public Management at The Florida State University. Tony is also active on numerous community service boards throughout the City. He is a graduate of Leadership Lakeland XVIII, a past Chairman of Leadership Lakeland Class XXIV and a graduate of Leadership Polk Class III and past Chairman of Leadership Polk Class VII. He has been married for 21 years to his wife Robin. Tony enjoys photography, golf, all types of sports but truly loves baseball and is a “die hard” Chicago Cubs fan of 46 years.
